You may have noticed it’s UK Carers’ Week 2019. So what has this got to do with you? If you care for a loved one, even if you just pop by with groceries, do check it out. It could be a gateway to more support and take a little load off…
This year’s Carers Week is all about connecting carers to the community and to the support they need but that doesn’t mean all the events organised are overly formal.
Carers’ Week events, even if they’re designed to be very informative are very welcoming. Personally I like the sound of the Relaxation Evening in Bucks tomorrow night. Not to be outdone, Oxon has a whole Relaxation Day tomorrow. Just enter your county in the Carers’ Week website ‘event search’ box (scroll down a bit, on right hand side) and have a nose around. I hope you can find a little time to pop out this week.
I’ve posted on my love for support groups before. This week could be a chance to dip your toe, at least to get some information that could make life easier. What do you have to lose?
My Carers’ Bucks group are having afternoon tea at a care home this afternoon, so that’s what I’m up to. I’m looking forward to catching up with my carer mates. What are you up to this week?
